JON DAUP

Jon DaupJon spent 37 years as an educator and/or coach in Ohio. He has coached basketball at the college, junior college, high school, and middle school levels.  Jon developed winning programs and won a number of championships as the boys’ varsity coach at Ashland Crestview, Worthington, and Dublin high schools.  His experience also includes 4 years assisting at the college and junior college levels.

 

Jon’s most recent coaching position was seven years as the Varsity Assistant of the Dublin Scioto girls’ basketball program from 2002-2009. During that time the Varsity won 78% of their games, capturing four Ohio Capital Conference Championships. The 2006-2007 Varsity ended the regular season with a 20-0 record and were ranked #1 in the DI final AP state poll. 

 

Jon has coached or given basketball instruction to over 60 high school players (male and female) who went on to play basketball at the collegiate level.  He has received a variety of Coach of the Year honors and was selected to coach in 4 high school all-star games.

 

Other basketball experiences include doing Evaluating/Consulting services for college basketball programs in Ohio and directing, assisting, and instructing in high school and college basketball camps. Jon was also a Co-Founder of the Ohio Sports Plus basketball company in Columbus.

 

DAVE HOOVER

Dave hooverDave spent 31 years as an educator and coach for Upper Arlington, Westerville, and Canton schools.  He was a head boys’ coach for 23 years, 12 years at Westerville North and 11 years at Canton McKinley.  During that time his teams had a record of 405-141, winning 11 district titles and reaching the state final four 7 times.

 

His 1993-1994 Westerville North team won the Division I State Championship and is the only Columbus suburban school to win a DI state title.  His 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 Canton McKinley teams made McKinley the first school in Ohio since 1969 to repeat as Division I poll champions and tournament state champions.  The 2005-2006 team also finished the season ranked #10 nationally by USA Today.

 

Dave has won numerous coaching awards, has been named Ohio Division I Coach of the Year 3 times, and has sent 40 players on to play at the collegiate level.  He has twice coached in the prestigious North-South All-Star Game, featuring the best seniors in Ohio.  Dave was inducted into the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in April, 2008.
